Computer Applications
The following are a number of Computer Applications that may be accessed
at several MT-AMRI
University server locations to provide
support to Manufacturing Classroom activities :
-
EMSIM
: End Milling Simulation : Prediction
of cutting forces, Surface roughness, Material Removal Rates, Forces ,
cutter defections and part surface error.
-
FMSIM
: Face milling process simulation.
-
DRSIM
: Drilling Process Simulation.
-
FIXMA
:
Fixture Design and Analysis : Performs rigid body analyses ( kinematic
restraint, total contraint);Linked to
EMSIM to provide machining forces for the actuator/clamping
force analysis.
-
CFEST
: Cutting Fluid Selection
and Evaluation for Environmental Impact ; CFEST is capable of evaluating
cutting fluid performance in turning, cylinder boring, and tapping . It
evaluates cutting fluid procurement maintainence , and disposal costs ,
and health hazards associated with a particular cutting fluid usage .
-
Cybercut :
Web based Machining Process Design and Rapid Prototyping .
-
StepView
: Step-Based CAD Interface and part
viewer for CAD-based Information Sharing ; Provides for creation of
step files and their 3-D representation in both solid and
wire frame formats ; Feature selection and importations of intro
machining simulation and fixture design applications.
-
VMT
:
Virtual Machine tool Testbeds taht provide a range of demostrations and
analyses related to machine tool structures
and systems ; e.g. , SPAEA (Stewart Platform Autamated Error Analysis).
